Janet Laugharne

Janet Laugharne (1951, E) grew up in North Wales, later studying English at St Hilda’s College, Oxford, followed by an M Phil in Comparative Literature. She taught in schools and higher education and researched Welsh English bilingualism with young speakers, completing a PhD at Cardiff University and publishing in that area. However, as she grew up with stories, her father being Anglo-Welsh author Cledwyn Hughes, the opportunity to publish poetry and fiction after a career of academic teaching and writing is much appreciated. Her creative work has appeared online, in print journals and anthologies. She also cowrites under the pen-name J. l. Harland with Jacqueline Harrett.
