Leslie Scase (1963, E) was educated in South Wales, working in local industry before travelling widely across the UK during a long career in the Civil Service. He has written a number of magazine articles on the subject of military history but Fortuna’s Deadly Shadow is his first work of fiction. The novel has been inspired in part by his Italian and English ancestors having settled in south Wales in the late nineteenth century. A keen fly fisherman and real ale enthusiast, he lives in Shropshire close to the Welsh border.
